Fundación Tecnalia Research & Innovation (www.tecnalia.com) is the first private Applied Research Center in Spain and the fifth in Europe. It currently has more than 1300 staff in 30 nationalities, including researchers and support staff of various specializations (legal, technical, financial and transfer experts). TECNALIA's short and medium-term activities have to do with the challenges of our society in the medium and long term. The goal is to overcome these challenges through Applied Research, developing business opportunities. The specialization of TECNALIA is reflected in the 6 main divisions that cover all areas of research and innovation in society. Customer-oriented and specialized divisions by activity sectors are Energy and Environment, Industry and Transport, ICT-European Software Institute, Health and Sustainable Construction, which are supported by the Technology Services Division.

The IIS Biodonostia was born in 2008 with a vocation to preferentially promote patient-focused translational research. Currently it covers all the research carried out in the historic territory of Gipuzkoa within the scope of Osakidetza - Basque Health Service and aims to improve the health of citizens through its multi-institutional and interdisciplinary collaborative structure. Biodonostia was the first of the Euskadi centers to obtain accreditation as a Health Research Institute (2011), having achieved re-accreditation for the next 5 years by the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII) in 2017.

The Basque Center for Macromolecular Design and Engineering, POLYMAT Fundazioa, ), is a research center of international excellence in polymers whose director is Professor José María Asua. It currently has 114 researchers from 13 different countries, making POLYMAT an international institution.

Its objective is to contribute to the challenges posed by 21st century society: energy, sustainability and health. In particular, it works in the development of polymers in order to respond to these challenges.

 

NEIKER-Tecnalia, Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development, is a non-profit public company attached to the Department of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Basque Government. Since the end of 2006, NEIKER-Tecnalia is a member of the technological corporation Tecnalia, whose purpose is to contribute to economic and social development through the promotion of technological innovation

TUBACEX is a multinational group based in Álava, leader in the supply of tubular solutions (tubes and accessories) of stainless steel and high alloys. It also offers a wide range of services ranging from the design of custom solutions to installation or maintenance. It has production plants in Spain, Austria, Italy, the United States, India and Thailand and stock and service centers worldwide, as well as commercial presence in 38 countries.

Department of Chemical Engineering

The research group "Chemical Engineering in Energy Efficiency and Environment" (IQEE & MA) is part of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of the Basque Country, the first department of studies of chemical engineering in Spain according to the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects and has its headquarters and its laboratories in the Faculty of Science and Technology, Leioa (Spain). The IQEE & MA group is recognized by the Basque Government as a consolidated group type A and is composed of six university professors from different categories, three doctoral students and students completing their final degree or master's degree.

Department of Chemical Engineering and Environment

The research group "Sustainable Process Engineering" (SuPrEn) is part of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environment of the University of the Basque Country and has its headquarters and laboratories in the School of Engineering of Bilbao. It is recognized by the Basque Government as a high-performance group (IT-993-16), having obtained 96 points out of 100 in the last evaluation.
